We have had a lot of wonderful things happen in the last year! Our journey was different, as it is every year. We learn, we grow, we transform, we endure, and we face a higher quality life with higher quality challenges!
This Christmas season, we did not expect some things. First, we did not expect to still be here in this house for Christmas.
We were hopeful to be spending this holiday in our little cabin on our property. However, we have not connected any heat or power to the cabin yet. It would have been harder with 5 little ones and a pup.
Next, our sink had to be removed in our kitchen, due to leaking, and water damage. Leaving us with a bathtub filled of dishes (the day before Christmas!)
Our dog has been drinking the water for our Christmas tree since the day we put it up, and I've noticed the tree looking more and more sad each day. I'd refill it, and a few days later, it looks worse.
Just a couple days before Christmas, we threw the tree out into the lawn. Hahaha
Again, I didn't expect this. I thought, even if the tree was dying, we would still have a Christmas tree with lights and beautiful ornaments.
But my tree was sitting on the grass outside...
We gathered our children and went out of town to enjoy each other and buy some bulk food at Costco.
On our way home, jamon and I looked at each other, knowing we didn't find a replacement Christmas tree, and we may need to go without.
However, when we pulled into the driveway, we had another unexpected surprise!
Someone was a secret Sabta and dropped off gifts, and an artificial Christmas tree, and a kitchen sink and base cabinet!!!
I was SHOCKED! I was so happy and relieved, we immediately began decorating the tree with the boys and stringing lights everywhere.
And I was able to surprise my boys with a gingerbread house activity. It was a great family night!
Christmas eve, we spent as a little family, watching the Christmas Oranges, and reading the nativity from the Bible.
We fell asleep with our kids and woke back up at 3 am, Christmas morning, forgetting our Santa duties!
Around 4 we layed back down and feel asleep until the moment our boys woke up to their Christmas.
It was all beautiful!
