What Matters Most

Everybody's creating a business profiting them and their motives. I just want a system that profits everyone.

I want a voice amongst the rest of the voices. Like a big oak in an old growth forest.

I don't want to stand out more than is required for my life and mission outside the heard. I don't want to be labeled and watched like a public figure, I'm not a king and I'm not a perfect man.

I just want to help make the changes I want to see in the world

So when this vision is a reality and all is said and done, I can sit back on my tree swing the wiser planted before me, affront a regenerative spring fed pond fishing with my sons, and eat a fresh beet from the soils at my feet i planted with my family. It's true I want to see a Haven for every family, a place of safety for families to come away to. But my alterior motive is, I know the life I want to live and raise my kids in is not possible without that reality for everyone.

Ultimately, i just want to see peace, and freedom. For myself and my family. I just happen to know that it is through the success of every other family that my own family will also experience the success We seek.

So I'll be there when you plant a garden. Or when you set your first hive. Or when you want to build a rain tank, raise chickens, keep cattle, or build a Geothermal greenhouse, or a literal house inside one. I'll be there when the "big names" want to talk to practice what they preach, and talk to the little guys like me. I'll be there when the young family leaves the school system for home based education. I'll be there for the bug out bag restocking party bringing chips and pizza to share with your families. And I'll make you a fresh garden grown green smoothie when you want to be there for mine.

In the end, no matter what we do, our actions speak louder than our words. And we can talk and talk and talk... humanity pretty much has a grip on that one. But you'll find me with the folks that left their jobs to pursue their passions, broke $ but happy, or basking in their $ successes. You'll find me with the loud obnoxious families that don't fit well in public spaces without a scene, and I'll probably be smiling thinking of mine.

You'll find me meditating on a mossy log in a dense forest in the middle of nowhere, taking 60 seconds for myself to be with God and a Pen. Probably a camera. You'll notice me from time to time talking a big game, making waves in communities and helping change the dynamic in which we feed ourselves across the nation with other powerfully inspired men and women. Or you may find me angry, driving, belting my favorite songs to decompress in a most unprofessional manner.

The fact of the matter is I'm a person, just like you.

And no matter what we do or don't do, we all have to eat, sleep, drink, and repeat until we don't. So behind all of our grand amazing master plans, we're just dads, moms, brothers, sisters, cousins, aunts, uncles, and full of personal shortcomings, success stories, feats, leaps, trials, prayers and more.

We're all just one big family.

And in the end, everything we do, effects our kin. Peeling back the layers like this, you may find the most important thing you can do right now, while you're waiting for business, income, partners, friends, the right time, the right place...

Is simply just to look up.

-Recognize the trees more than your check list. -Let go of some grudges. Plant the seed anyway. -Eat a piece of the garlic you planted last fall. -Check on a neighbor, borrow a shovel, lend a hand, or ask for one.

Life really is just that simple.

You don't go to heaven because you know more math or science than the next guy. You don't go to hell because you opted out of belief or learning all together. You're not a bad person because you chase your own dreams before someone else's. And your not a good person because you put theirs first. I believe the simple things are in fact the most important things. And I believe neither success nor failure will determine what our society becomes in the end. Rather, We choose today, right now, whether or not we plant that the tree in the ground. Even if we may never see the day we can sit under it ourselves. Or know if we did it just right. If it's perfect, if we're doing any good. If our actions even matter.

I think, what matters most, is whether or not you did it at all.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees in whose shade they shall never sit.” — Greek Proverb
