SO MUCH STUFF

Something that is on my mind a Lot, is how much I carry each day. Even the thought can be heavy!

I'm not necessarily directing the point to my burdens and responsibilities, even though those are also heavy, I'm referring very specifically to the tangible items I carry each day, and throughout my life.

I had a thought not too long ago,

"When I'm old and pass away, will I be leaving THOUSANDS of random, unnecessary items for my children to deal with?!"

I have been questioning everything I have since I had that thought!

When we moved from Wyoming to Missouri, I was given the direction to downsize As Much As Possible! And I did just that. I went from having a house full of stuff, to a small truck bed and a 8x6' trailer. And upon moving out of state, we downsized Even MORE to help our brothers family bring their items on our move East.

I will confidently say we rid our life of THOUSANDS of items (big and small) that no longer served us.

With that, being a hard step I willingly took, the following few months were hard. Knowing I threw things away I would have clinged onto for the rest of my life, and would have been the happiest woman in the world.

I have learned a lot since then. After I was given the direction to downsize my home again, 3 years later, I realized how much I have accumulated over the years.

Downsizing my home into a Camper was necessary. And here's Why! (From what I have been promised, if I chose to do so)

  1. I will have a clear mind to teach my children in my home.

  2. My time will be spent playing with my children more.

  3. I will have less stress and tension in my life.

  4. I will be able to have more quality experiences with my family

  5. I will find Joy in having less.

When all was said and done, and we moved out of our home into the camper, I have thrown out/sold/donated/given away THOUSANDS more items!

How is it, than just in a couple years, we can accumulate SO much!?

I have found that I hoard things because of the fear that opportunities won't come around again, and I will need it eventually. And with that mindset, I can fill an entire extra house with items that I won't even touch. It's ridiculous!

After moving into the camper, I felt more free, however I also felt a sense of fear lingering. Like I had my foot in the exit door, in case something went south, I was lucky enough to have held onto certain items.

So I downsized MORE!

I downsized our camper, and I'm still Downsizing my camper.

In fact it's becoming a weekly thing. Until we feel that overpowering sense of peace, we're continuing to let go of things that don't serve us.

I have a weekly goal of 3 full garbage bags of stuff, out each week.

It shouldn't be too long until the camper is empty.... right?!? Hahaha well, with a family of 7 and a dog, you don't realize how much you have until you are sitting at a 24/7 coin-up Laundromat at 10pm with 7-9 loads of laundry, and still have clothes to wear and blankets to sleep with.

We just have too much stuff! I'm looking to purge this next week.

I'm so ready to be free of STUFF!

P.S. at the same time as i downsize, my boys are bringing in dozens of Rocks each state.
