What a birth!
Our boy has arrived!!
After quickly getting to 4 cm dilated, progression stopped.
I was sitting for hours with no more dilation. Contractions were still pretty strong, yet no progress!!
The nurses quickly shot down the idea that I would deliver my baby fast, like my other three boys. My word was no longer valid to them, hahaha. Though I don't blame them, I was dumbfounded. What was happening?
Finally, after hours of just pressure and no progress, they checked me, and determined baby's head was stuck on my cervix. And I was still at a 4. They figured if I was given some pitocin, then everything would pick back up.
Within an hour I was at a 5. I was exhausted though. Hours of contractions and nothing happening left me completely drained.
I slept through a bunch of contractions. Though I woke up a couple times to my legs shaking uncontrollably after contractions. Jamon told me that it was because of my exhaustion.
Delivery
A nurse came in to ask how I was doing, she wanted to check me. I woke up with a large amount of pressure and refused to be checked. Instead I sat up and got on my hands and knees (yes, while on the bed) and told her I dont want to be checked, I feel like I should push.
She freaked out and told me not to push. I was only measuring at 5 cm 1 hour ago.
I chucked during the contraction, nd said im going to push. She ran out of the room and next thing I know, my husband has caught our baby, and within 10 seconds there were 10-15 nurses in the delivery room.
Our baby Magnus was not breathing well on his own. The NICU team was ready, helping the other nurses, however he was put on oxygen support.
This was definitely not the ideal labor and delivery. And definitely traumatic.
I was left alone in the room 5 minutes after baby and placenta, the room was entirely quiet and empty. With me laying on the bed, no blankets, completely exhausted, shaken, and cold. With no baby. This was HARD emotionally.
But I knew my husband was right beside our little boy and I had my Father in Heaven by my side.
A few minutes later the nurses came in to check me and make sure everything was alright.

24 Hours Later
24 hours in, I was discharged from the hospital, however my baby boy was still sitting in the NICU.
I was able to get a room in the Maternity wing of the hospital. Under the conditions that I had to vacate the room as soon as the room was needed for a patient.
Magnus was taken off Oxygen support at 13 hours.
He was having a hard time staying awake long enough to breastfeed, so they had to supplement with donated breastmilk. Which was super amazing to know they had some.
Though my mama heart is upset I couldn't offer this to my son first thing out of the womb.
We have started giving him a pacifier to strengthen his muscles.
And Jamon was able to get herbs from the nutrition store. And I was able to start producing more milk, enough to pump and use for his supplement while he gained his strength.

48 More Hours
We have 48 hours left! Strictly breastfeeding.
Magnus is breastfeeding great, he is getting stronger every hour, and he passed his car seat test!
He continues to impress the staff, and his mom and dad.
We are so ready to have the boys meet their new baby brother, but they need to wait a little longer, and when we are home, we can have a family reunion!
The tests of faith, the unknown waters, the rollercoaster of emotions, and all the details in between, have been building blocks that are needed for us to grow stronger as a couple, and as a family.

Success!
We made it out!
We massively appreciate hospitals and the NICU and all the car Magnus had received from all the nurses.
Though, we are SO extremely happy to be out and heading home!
It is Xavier's birthday and he will be so happy to see his new baby brother for his birthday. 💕
Its a beautiful day and the drive home is amazing!
