One of the first steps to helping your child through big changes is to let them take part in the creation process.

1. Ask them for ideas.

2. Ask them for help with big tasks.

3. Give them paper and let them draw our their vision.

Just the simple act of letting them feel like they had a part to play, makes the Change less chaotic.

And this goes for Big Changes that we can control and changes we simply cannot control.

Such things like Loss of a loved one, school shutdowns, accidents, home catastrophe, a separation, and other things that are sudden and may rock their foundation, or even crumble their foundation.

There's a way we can let them control their new reality.

Now we don't want to confuse the idea of letting them take part, and giving them the responsibility. The choice needs to remain. These beautiful souls can't comprehend all the realities of change. And with that knowledge, we can help them through the journey.

Maybe they will help us through the change too. Their ideas, their support, and their simple solutions may be the exact thing we need, as adults.

We can get too far into reality at times, where we can lose focus and we can lose imagination and HOPE.

But if we can become as little children and use that Hope and Imagination to create a new reality, we find more success, and rhe process isn't as long!

Sometimes I can get overwhelmed with the idea that I have 4 boys with their own needs and desires and my mind can become so foggy of the beauty and blessing of their presence when things get shakey. They often have the exact solution needed for me to calm down, and feel peace and love in my home.
