Today I moved 5000 bees into a temporary langstroth hive. And I will be moving the same bees into a horizontal hive in 2 or 3 weeks! I have been helping with my churches local faith initiative bee project, and today was My first time handling bees EVER! I've held frames without bees And I've seen bees handled several times. But I personally have never moved the bees themselves by hand. This was a pretty cool moment. No gloves, no suit. Just a face veil. So much more to come as we get our long awaited personal hives up we've been under the impression we had to be on our Rural land to have(homestead style). I looked into it a few weeks back and realized I'd wasted years under the wrong impression. And God is so good, I am learning all the things I need to know as I serve in my church here in northern Missouri through the bee project, helping lots of folks build hives, catch wild swarms, and place completed hives and colonies. Really an incredible thing happening from southern to northern missouri with natural bee keeping. If you ever want to learn to keep bees with a smile, check out Dr. Leo Sharashkin!
