A whole week after my due date...

I have had off and on contractions for the last couple weeks, leading us to believe our sweet little boy would be coming soon. And he had us on our toes for those couple weeks.

However, he is sure to come when he is ready, not when we are. That was what I had assumed.

We have spent the better part of 2 years getting this Birth suite ready for all future babies as well as a center for any midwives that need a place for the mothers they assist.

I didnt realize how prepared we truly were.

Well, 41 weeks, and I woke up from my sleep with a strong, long contraction. Almost immediately after, I felt my water breaking. I got up and started moving around and woke my husband.

It is time!

What was so beautiful, was we weren't rushing bags and babysitters to head to the hospital. We were staying put. At home. With our 4 other boys asleep in their beds across the house.

We did not call any midwife. We called our sister to come observe for her school credits (she is in school to become a certified midwife. And needs to observe a certain amount of births)

2 hours and 25 minutes

Baby was big, lets just say that.

For an unassisted birth, this was absolutely amazing! My husband was fantastic. He had everything ready. To see him silently prepare for months and then to see him come alive in the moment. All the tools, all the energy and focus. It was beautiful.

2 hours and 25 min later, our handsome baby boy was born.

After nursing and taking a moment, we weighed him in at 10#4 oz.

My biggest baby yet!!

The amount of joy I felt after hearing that, was so amazing, i almost cried!

Linden Oak Mysliwiec born at 3:15 am. He weighes 10# 4 oz and 22 inches long!
